Relief to medical students returned from Ukraine: National Medical Commission gave NOC, will be able to complete the course from any college in the world

Due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the studies of Indian medical students studying in Ukraine were suspended.  Now the National Medical Commission i.e. NMC has given great relief to the medical students who returned from Ukraine after leaving their studies in the middle.  The commission issued an NOC on Tuesday.  According to this, these students will now be able to complete their studies from any medical college in the country and the world.

However, NMC has also said that these students will have to fulfill other criteria of Screening Test Regulation 2002.

 Relocation will be temporary, degree will be received from Ukraine

 In fact, some medical universities in Ukraine, built in the most dangerous war zone, had asked foreign students to take mobility or transfer programs.  After this, the NMC took this decision on the advice of the Ministry of External Affairs.  The commission has called it temporary relocation.  That is, the degree will be issued to the students by the same university of Ukraine of which they are students.

No decision on admission in private colleges of India

 Most of the students who returned from Ukraine had demanded temporary seats in the country's private medical colleges.  However, so far nothing has been said on this demand from the NMC or the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

 Earlier, you could study from the same institute

 The NMC had said in an earlier rule – training, internship or clerkship of the entire syllabus during the course will be completed from the same foreign medical institute.  That is, no part of the training or internship will be done from any other college or university.
